If Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, then Heaven is the destiny. John 14:6
Christmas, and all it truly represents, is an awesome time of the year!! Celebrating Christmas for the first time without a special loved one, however, can be a challenge. I can remember years ago when both my parents died in the same year and we experienced the Christmas season without them.
The following poem, Christmas in Heaven, written by Wanda Bencke, has the potential to be personal and timely. Perhaps you or someone you know have been affected by the death of a friend or family loved one. May these words be a comforting and edifying gift to you as well.
Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights like Heaven’s stars reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sound of music can’t compare with the choir that’s up here.
I have no words to tell you of the joy their voices bring
For it is beyond description to hear these adoring angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But alas, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I can’t tell you of the splendor or the peace here in this place
Can you just imagine Christmas with our Savior… face to face.
I’ll ask Him to lift your spirit as I tell Him of your love
So then pray for one another as you lift your eyes above.
Please let your hearts be joyful and let your spirit sing
For I am spending Christmas in Heaven…walking with the King!
May God bless you during this season. Merry Christmas!!
Rev 12:12
Editor’s note: Praise Him! There is coming a day when we’ll all be with him & it will be “Forever Christmas.” Check out this beautiful song by Neville Peter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qunkBV2f6s
